Model 3 SR+ now available to pre-order in China

The Tesla website and vehicle configurator in China has been updated with the new made-in-China Model 3 Standard Range Plus (SR+) with Autopilot. This marks an important step in the evolution of Tesla as this is yet another sign that the new Gigafactory 3 in Shanghai will start producing vehicles soon.

On Wednesday during Tesla’s Q3 2019 earnings call, Tesla CEO Elon Musk announced that the Gigafactory 3 had begun trial production of Model 3’s, and fully expects the factory to be producing delivery ready Model 3’s by the end of the year. That is a remarkable, and unprecedented feat, as construction on the massive factory began just 9 months ago.

The SR+ in China will be available for Â¥ 355,800, or around $65,500CDN, and will include Autopilot. The configurator notes that the SR+ still requires regulatory approval. The estimated delivery date for the Chinese SR+ is not until the first quarter of 2020, which lines up with Musk’s statements from Wednesday.
