Elon Musk has confirmed that he will not make the to India this week. Musk confirmed he will be delaying his trip in a reply to a user on X, citing his heavy Tesla obligations as the reason for the decision.
Unfortunately, very heavy Tesla obligations require that the visit to India be delayed, but I do very much look forward to visiting later this year.

The original plan was for Musk to arrive on Sunday and stay for a couple of days. The trip was expected to include an announcement around an investment of $2 to $3 billion in a new factory in the country, a meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and meetings with several space start-up executives in New Delhi.
The trip’s timing was interesting, considering India is in the middle of its national election, which takes place in several phases and will end on June 1. Almost a billion people are going to the polls, with Prime Minister Modi looking to secure a third term as leader.
Musk did not go into detail about what the heavy Tesla obligations could be. Many suspect that Musk is choosing to attend the April 23 Tesla earnings call in person, given the recent layoffs and announcement to unveil the robotaxi over the next-gen $25k car. However, nothing has been confirmed as of yet.
Neither Musk nor the Indian government announced new dates for an official visit.
