You can add one more Tesla Supercharger to the growing list of locations in Ontario as the new station in Bancroft is now open.
Located in the Canadian Tire parking lot at 341 Hastings St N., Drive Tesla was first to report the Supercharger had begun construction in mid-September.
Now nearly four months to the day later, crews have seemingly flipped the switch and Bancroft Tesla Supercharger is now appearing in the in-car navigation.
The site features 8 stalls of the latest V3 Superchargers, capable of charging at up to 250kW. The extra juice will be a welcomed addition as the location fills a large gap in the charging network between Toronto and the Deep River Supercharger 400km to the north.
The opening of this Supercharger comes as the province of Ontario is under a COVID-19 lockdown. It was believed the lockdown would suspend all work on the Superchargers under construction, but crews were seen working today at the Collingwood Supercharger which began construction in September.
Looks like the Ontario lockdown hasn’t totally stopped work at Tesla Superchargers? According to workers on site at the Collingwood location, electrical will be completed today. (photos by Bob B from the Tesla Model 3 Canadian Facebook group) pic.twitter.com/w8DSvPAah5
