Along with a recall to disable Boombox again, Tesla has also issued recall for certain 2021-2022 Model X vehicles over concerns the side curtain air bags may not deploy in a crash.

According to the NHTSA recall notice (22V-233), the left or right front-row side curtain air bags may not deploy as intended when the windows are lowered.

Tesla first discovered the issue on December 22, 2021, and over the next several months conducted tests to better understand the problem and determine a potential fix.

That fix is to replace the LH and RH side front row curtain airbags on all affected vehicles.

Tesla estimates 50% of the 7,289 vehicles covered under the recall have the defect.

Owners will be notified of the recall by mail on June 7, 2022. Service Centers will replace the airbags at no cost to the owner.
