Last night was certainly a memorable night. From the radical design, to the failed demonstration during the live event of Tesla’s new Armor Glass, it definitely lived up to the hype. Now that many people have had the opportunity to get up close and personal with the new Cybertruck, here’s what we now know that was part of the live event.
Redesigned UI
We’ve covered this already here, but the UI for Cybertruck revealed a completely new design, and potentially shows us what’s in store in future updates for the Model S, Model 3, and Model X.
Accessories
After the event, Tesla’s website was updated with pictures of the truck in action, including a camping scene. Elon Musk later confirmed on Twitter the camper mode will be an accessory that can be purchased separately.
Cyberquad ATV
Also confirmed on Twitter after the event, the “one more thing” Cyberquad ATV will first be available as an option for Cybertruck buyers. It will also be able to fit 2 people.
Cybertruck Vault Cover will be a solar panel
From the pictures on Tesla’s website, it appeared the Vault cover could also be a solar panel to give the truck a continuous charge. Musk responded on Twitter that this will indeed be an option that will generate 15 miles per day, presumably in optimal conditions. He even hinted at fold out solar wings that would help generate more energy, potentially providing enough for a full day’s commute.
Will be an option to add solar power that generates 15 miles per day, possibly more. Would love this to be self-powered. Adding fold out solar wings would generate 30 to 40 miles per day. Avg miles per day in US is 30.

New rear view camera mirror
Once the test drives began, it was quickly revealed the Cybertruck won’t have a traditional rear view mirror (why would it?), but instead will be a rear view camera.
