Canadians are rushing to buy electric vehicles at a record pace, with over 95,000 iZEV claims made during the first half of 2024.
According to Transport Canada data, Canadian dealers made 45,669 iZEV claims in 2023. So far, in 2024, Canadian dealers have made a shocking 95,775 iZEV claims, amounting to $464.5 million in federal subsidies. This represents a 110% year-over-year increase during the same timeframe, and there is no indication that things are slowing down.
By brand, iZEV claims have been decently balanced, with Tesla leading the way.
