Tesla Giga Shanghai Sold 82,432 Vehicles in November

Tesla’s team in China is closing out the year on a strong note, increasing production at Giga Shanghai after the introduction of the upgraded Model 3 and increasing its sales numbers.

Tesla sold 82,432 Giga Shanghai-built vehicles in November, according to data released today by the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA). This is up 14.31 percent from the 72,115 sold in October. However, this is still down 17.81 percent from the 100,291 vehicles sold in the same month last year. For now, Tesla continues to ramp up production after switching to production of the updated Model 3 Highland and the refreshed Model Y.

Tesla sold 853,603 Chinese-made vehicles between January and November, according to CnEVPost.

This is 30.31 percent more than in the same period last year. Giga Shanghai is confidently increasing its production capacity to set new production records and support the company’s worldwide growth.

Giga Shanghai has an annual capacity of more than 950,000 vehicles, according to the company’s third-quarter financial report released in October. This makes it the largest automobile factory in the world. Giga Shanghai is Tesla’s export hub and vehicles are shipped from it to all over the world. At the moment, data on how many cars were sold on the domestic market and how many were exported is not known.

Over the past two months, Tesla has increased the prices of its cars in China several times. This indicates that demand continues to grow. Model 3 is offered in two versions in China: a base version with rear-wheel drive and a Model 3 Long Range version with dual-motor all-wheel drive. Model Y is offered in China in three versions: the base rear-wheel-drive, the dual-motor all-wheel-drive Model Y Long Range, and the dual-motor all-wheel-drive Model Y Performance.
