Cadillac Lyriq gets price bump, range figure and more ahead of order books reopening on May 19, 2022

General Motors (GM) has announced today new pricing and specs for the upcoming Cadillac Lyriq electric SUV. The automaker first announced the Lyriq last year, selling out an unspecified number of reservations for the special Debut Edition within 15 minutes of making them available.

Now GM has revealed pricing and specs for the base rear-wheel drive (RWD) version of the Lyriq, which is set to debut this fall.

Cadillac Lyriq enters production

According to the automaker, the Lyriq RWD will start at $69,898 CAD or $62,990 USD, pricier than the special Debut Edition which cost $59,990 USD.

An all-wheel drive (AWD) version will be released in 2023, and it will start at $64,990 USD. Canadian pricing for the AWD model was not released.

For the first time we know the EVs range – 312 miles (502km) on a full charge based on EPA testing. That is for the RWD variant, so expect the Lyriq AWD to be slightly lower than that figure.

That range is accomplished thanks to a 100kW Ultium battery pack, which provides 340 horsepower and 325lb-ft of torque in the Lyriq RWD and 500 horsepower and the same amount of torque in the AWD variant.

When it comes to charging, the Lyriq features a 19.2kW on-board charger. It can handle up to 190kW when plugged into a DC fast charger providing an estimated 76 miles of range in about 10 minutes.

The Lryiq will also be offered with some charging incentives. The new owner can select between either two years of unlimited charging credits at EVgo stations across the US or a $1,500 credit towards the installation of a home charging solution through Qmerit.

Ordering for both models will open on May 19. Lyriq RWD is expected to begin deliveries this fall, with the the Lyriq AWD expected to begin deliveries in early 2023.

The Debut Edition will be handed over to the early reservation holders this summer.
