Tesla CEO Elon Musk has announced the price of the Full Self-Driving (FSD) package will be increasing by $2,000 in the United States later this month.
According to the tweet this afternoon, the price of the package will be increasing from $10,000 to$12,000 on January 17.

The price increase comes more than a year after the last increase, which happened shortly after the limited public release of FSD Beta in October 2020.
At the time Musk promised the same increase would happen one week after the release of the self-driving software in other markets.
As we all know, that hasn’t happened yet because FSD Beta is still only limited to those in the US.
Musk did not clarify if there will be a corresponding price increase for Canada. If you want to purchase the suite of features north of the border, it will currently set you back $10,600.
UPDATE: Musk has now confirmed the price increase is limited to the US. In addition, the price the FSD subscription will not be increasing, and only will once FSD goes to wide release. He also said the price will continue to increase as they get closer to a wide release.
Along with the announcement of the price increase, Musk also said FSD Beta 10.9 should be released “in about a week.”
This morning Tesla began deploying FSD Beta 10.8.1, which allows drivers who have been kicked out of the program for improper usage to use the software again.
Beta 10.9 should be ready in about a week.
