Porsche has officially pulled the wraps off the first all-electric Cayenne, and the brand’s flagship SUV is making its EV debut with some staggering numbers. Arriving for the 2027 model year, the Cayenne Electric instantly becomes the most powerful production Porsche ever built—surpassing even the sporty Taycan Turbo GT.
The headline figure is a jaw-dropping 1,139 horsepower. That peak output is unlocked in Launch Control, where the new “Turbo Electric” trim delivers 1,106 lb-ft of torque and rockets from 0–60 mph in just 2.4 seconds. Top speed is capped at 162 mph. In everyday driving, the Turbo still produces 844 hp, with an additional 174 hp available for 10 seconds via a “push-to-pass” button.
The standard dual-motor model is no slouch either, offering 402 hp (435 hp in Launch Control) and a 0–60 mph time of 4.8 seconds.

EPA range figures haven’t been released, but on the more generous WLTP-cycle, the Cayenne EV is rated for 398 miles (640 km) and 387 miles (622 km) for the entry-level and Turbo trims respectively. That range comes from a new 113 kWh battery pack featuring double-sided cooling for better thermal performance. Porsche says DC fast-charging peaks at 400 kW, allowing a 10%–80% recharge in under 16 minutes—among the quickest charging times of any SUV on the market.
The Cayenne Electric also becomes Porsche’s first vehicle to support wireless charging, offering up to 11 kW via an optional floor-mounted pad. Buyers must also select an optional “Preparation for Porsche Wireless Charging” when configuring their vehicle, priced at C$270/US$200.

Built on the PPE platform shared with the Macan EV and Audi Q6 e-tron, the new Cayenne adopts a completely redesigned exterior focused on aerodynamics. Active grille shutters, air curtains, a reworked underbody, and an adaptive rear spoiler help achieve a drag coefficient of 0.25. The rear end receives a modernized 3D light bar with animated graphics and illuminated Porsche lettering. A panoramic glass roof with variable transparency—adjustable via liquid-crystal tech—adds another premium touch.

Inside, Porsche has gone all-in on OLED displays. A curved 14.25-inch digital instrument cluster anchors the dashboard, joined by a new center OLED screen and an optional 14.9-inch passenger display. A massive AR head-up display effectively projects an 87-inch virtual screen ahead of the driver. Comfort features take a big leap as well, with heated seats, armrests, door panels, and steering wheel all included. Cargo space measures up to 1,588 L with the rear seats folded, plus a 90-litre frunk.

On the dynamics front, Porsche Active Ride makes its Cayenne debut, nearly eliminating body roll, pitch, and dive. Rear-axle steering (up to 5 degrees), adaptive air suspension, and Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus on the Turbo complete the performance-focused setup. Towing capacity remains strong at 7,700 lbs.
Porsche will continue selling combustion and hybrid versions of the Cayenne alongside the new EV “well into the 2030s,” but the brand calls this electric model “the beginning of a new era.” Deliveries begin in Canada and the U.S. in summer 2026.
