flydubai becomes latest airline to adopt SpaceX’s Starlink for inflight Wi-Fi

flydubai has announced a new partnership with SpaceX that will bring Starlink’s high-speed, low-latency internet service to its entire fleet of more than 100 aircraft starting in 2026. The deal comes just one day after Emirates revealed its own upcoming Starlink rollout, highlighting how rapidly airlines in the region are shifting toward SpaceX’s satellite technology over competitors.

The agreement was unveiled at the Dubai Airshow 2025, where flydubai confirmed that Starlink will become the inflight connectivity provider across its Boeing 737 fleet. Passengers will be able to access the inflight Wi-Fi for free, which is capable of supporting HD streaming, online gaming, real-time video calls, and other data-heavy services typically impossible on traditional airline Wi-Fi.

“We are proud to bring Starlink’s cutting-edge technology to our customers. This agreement marks a major milestone in our ongoing efforts to elevate the travel experience, providing fast, reliable internet access across our growing network,” said flydubai CEO Ghaith Al Ghaith, emphasizing that connectivity has shifted from a luxury to an expectation for today’s travelers.

Once installed, the service will cover more than 100 destinations in flydubai’s network, giving passengers a reliable connection from departure to arrival—even over regions where conventional systems struggle. SpaceX says Starlink’s aviation hardware delivers the fastest and lowest-latency inflight service available today.

“We’re excited to team up with flydubai and bring Starlink to its entire fleet and deliver connectivity that’s similar, if not better, than what you experience in your own home,” said Chad Gibbs, SpaceX’s Vice President of Starlink Business Operations. “Starlink is committed to providing seamless internet on board so passengers and crew have improved and memorable experiences as they work and travel.”

The airline expects installation across the fleet to begin in 2026, with many aircraft receiving the upgrade in a matter of hours—a stark contrast to legacy systems that often require extended downtime over several weeks.
