SpaceX is once again making its portable Starlink Mini more accessible for travelers and outdoor enthusiasts. The lightweight satellite internet kit, designed for people who need reliable connectivity while on the move, is getting a limited-time price drop.
In Canada, the Mini is now available for C$399, down from C$599, while U.S. customers can pick one up for US$299 instead of US$499.
This new discount mirrors a similar promotion SpaceX ran earlier this year, giving customers another chance to save on the compact, backpack-ready dish.
While the hardware is significantly more affordable with the discount, customers will still need a Starlink Roam plan to use the service across multiple locations. The Roam Unlimited plan currently costs C$189 per month in Canada, though a more budget-friendly 50GB plan is also available at C$70 per month.
It’s worth noting that Starlink recently changed its pausing policy. The free “pause” feature, which allowed customers to pause the service for as long as they wanted at no charge, is being phased out in favour of a new paid Standby Mode.
Under Standby Mode, billing continues at US$5 per month, and users are limited to a low-speed connection (around 0.5 Mbps), useful only for basic browsing, messaging, or network maintenance. Customers who don’t want to pay for Standby Mode may instead cancel service entirely, though reactivating later may carry risks if local capacity is limited.
The Starlink Mini was created for travelers, campers, RV owners, and outdoor enthusiasts who want the flexibility of satellite internet without hauling a full-sized dish. Small enough to fit in a backpack and featuring a built-in Wi-Fi router, the Mini can be set up in less than 10 minutes, making it ideal for off-grid adventures.
The promotion is currently available directly through Starlink’s website, as well as on third party retailers like Best Buy and Home Depot. SpaceX has not said how long it will last, but if history repeats, the offer will likely remain active through the end of the month.
