Rivian Begins Construction on New 28,000 Square Foot Service Centre in Laval, Quebec

Rivian has officially begun construction on a new service centre in Laval, Quebec, expanding its national support network ahead of the highly anticipated R2 launch in 2026.

The American electric vehicle (EV) maker held a groundbreaking ceremony on July 16, 2025, alongside its development partner Montoni Group. The event, attended by Laval Mayor Stéphane Boyer, marked a key milestone in Rivian’s Canadian expansion strategy.

Once complete, the 28,000 square foot facility will serve as a permanent service, delivery, and demo hub for the Greater Montreal Area.

This new centre will replace Rivian’s temporary location in the Town of Mount Royal, offering Quebec drivers a permanent and purpose-built facility to meet growing demand. It will offer a full range of services throughout the entire vehicle lifecycle—including maintenance, diagnostics, over-the-air updates, and customer support.

“The Greater Montreal Area is critical to our service footprint across Canada. This new service, delivery and demo center will allow us to provide robust support to Rivian owners in Quebec while allowing even more prospective customers to experience our class-defining electric vehicles,” said Nick Harterre, Rivian’s Policy Manager.

The Laval facility is targeting LEED® v4 certification and will incorporate low-carbon materials, EV charging stations, and environmentally conscious landscaping.

Rivian operates a growing network of service centres across Canada. These include locations in Calgary (4398 112 Ave SE, Calgary, AB), Vancouver (13551 Commerce Parkway #120, Richmond, BC), Toronto (8311 Weston Road, Vaughan, ON), and a service centre in Mount Royal, QC (5720 Rue Ferrier).

The launch of this permanent Rivian service centre in Laval comes as Rivian prepares for the Canadian debut of its R2 SUV. Slated for release in 2026, the R2 is expected to bring Rivian to a broader market at a lower price point than its current R1T and R1S models. To support this growth, Rivian is also investing in a combination of physical service centres and mobile service vehicles across Canada.
