Tesla has expanded its military discount program, offering $1,000 off new vehicle purchases for a broader group of “American heroes.” Previously limited to military personnel, the incentive now includes first responders, teachers, students, and even spouses of service members.
Previously the program was called “Made in America For Those Who Served,” but now that have been revamped to “Made in America for Everyday Heroes.” Under the newly expanded program, verified individuals can receive $1,000 off the purchase of a new Tesla Model S, Model 3, Model X, Model Y, and for the first time, also the Cybertruck.
The $1,000 discount is available to:
- Military veterans, retirees, and active-duty members
- Spouses and surviving spouses of military personnel
- First responders
- Teachers
- Students (verified through ID.me)
To access the offer, eligible customers must verify their status through ID.me, a secure identity verification platform. Once verified, they will be redirected to Tesla’s Design Studio to configure and order their vehicle, with the $1,000 discount applied at the time of purchase. This discount can be stacked with existing financing offers and offers through Tesla’s referral program, which is currently three months of Full Self-Driving (FSD).
Tesla emphasizes that its vehicles are designed and built in America, aligning with the spirit of this incentive. With production facilities like Giga Texas and Fremont Factory, Tesla continues to lead the automotive industry in U.S.-based manufacturing.
The move to expand this program came on the same day Tesla announced a new partnership with rideshare company Lyft, where up to $2,000 in incentives were provided to active drivers who met specific trip completion goals.
