Tesla has quietly opened a new Supercharger station in the heart of downtown Vancouver.
This new Supercharger was first revealed in an update to Tesla’s Supercharger map back in November 2024, however due to its location inside a parking garage at 535 Smithe Street, the construction went unnoticed. Crews have been working since then, and on Thursday work was completed and Tesla energized the station.
According to photos shared with us by one of our readers @alexanderBC83 on X, the new 12-stall Supercharger is actually located across two levels of the parkade—Level 2 and Level 3.

While many were disappointed to see the mobile app and in-car navigation indicating the chargers are in a paid parking facility, it looks like you can plug in and charge without having to pay extra. There is no requirement to pay to enter the parking garage, so if you stay with your car while it is plugged in, you will likely be ok without paying.
Unfortunately, even if you don’t have to pay, it might be difficult to find an open Supercharger as all 12 stalls were blocked by gas-powered vehicles.

Charging rates at this location range from $0.23 to $0.29 per kWh for Tesla drivers. Non-Tesla EV owners, who can access the station with NACS adapters, will pay slightly more, between $0.30 and $0.38 per kWh.
The new Smithe Street location adds to Tesla’s downtown Vancouver charging network. Other Supercharger sites in the core include one in Pacific Center (V3) and on Burrard St (V2), both of which are also in pay parking garages.
