Tesla’s first V3 Superchargers in Sault Ste Marie and North Bay, Ontario now open [Updated]

It has been almost 2 months since the installation of Tesla Superchargers appeared to be complete in Sault Ste. Marie and North Bay, Ontario, with Tesla owners anxiously waiting for the power to be turned on. Now it finally has, but the switch hasn’t been flipped all the way just yet.

Both new Superchargers features 6 stalls, with Tesla’s latest V3 technology capable of charging at up to 250kW. But it appears for now that the Superchargers are capping out at anywhere between 10kW and 50kW, with no word yet on when full power will be available to charge.

TMC member Terra Vita posted these photos showing his Model 3 charging at North Bay, including a photo of his charging screen showing just 19kW, or 139km/hr. TMC member MacLeodMX also posted a photo of his Model X charging at the new Supercharger in Sault Ste. Marie earlier today.

Keep checking back as we’ll update this post when the Superchargers are at full power.

Update: Patricia Guy, who lives in North Bay Ontario, visited the Supercharger today and let Tesla in Canada know over on our Facebook page that it appears they are not working again, after trying two stalls with no success.
