Osoyoos Supercharger now open [British Columbia]

It took more than two years, but Tesla owners in Osoyoos, British Columbia finally have their first Supercharger.

Construction began in August, and the switch was flipped and the power turned on at the Osoyoos Supercharger last night.

TMC forum member Triunbad shared a picture of the illuminated pedestal and his Model 3 plugged in receiving a charge.

UPDATE: It is also now appearing on the in-car navigation.

Tesla’s entrance into Osoyoos was first announced in 2018, and the station was initially supposed to be completed by the summer of 2019.

It wasn’t until October 2020 when the City finally announced construction would begin in 2021.

The Osoyoos Supercharger is located at 8513 74 Ave, and features 8 V3 stalls and 2 FLO DC fast chargers. It is the third Supercharger to open along BC’s Crowsnest Hwy (Hwy 3) through the southern interior.

Two other stations are under construction in Castlegar and Fernie. Another was supposed to start construction last month in Creston, but that has been delayed over concerns about its placement.

The only station remaining to begin construction is in Grand Forks.
