SpaceX’s satellite internet service is becoming more affordable for some Canadians, but only for a limited time. Starlink has lowered the monthly price of its Residential plans in select areas, offering home internet service starting at just $55 per month for the first six months.
The offer, which runs until March 31, introduces discounted pricing across three Residential tiers, providing a range of performance options depending on a household’s needs. While Starlink’s satellite-based service has become popular in rural and remote parts of Canada where fibre or cable connections are unavailable, the new pricing makes it more competitive with traditional broadband providers.
The entry-level plan in the promotion is the Residential 100 Mbps tier, now priced at $55 per month during the introductory period, down from the regular $70 monthly cost. The plan provides download speeds of up to 100 Mbps and includes unlimited data, making it suitable for everyday activities like streaming, browsing, and video calls.
For households with heavier internet usage, Starlink is also offering its Residential 200 Mbps plan for $95 per month for the first six months, reduced from the regular $110 monthly rate. This tier is designed for larger homes or users who frequently stream high-definition video, game online, or connect multiple devices simultaneously.
At the top of the lineup is the Residential Max plan, priced at $125 per month during the promotion, compared to the standard $140 monthly price. This tier delivers Starlink’s best performance with speeds reaching up to 400+ Mbps and includes unlimited data and the company’s highest Wi-Fi performance.
One of the more notable perks with the Max plan is the option to receive a free Starlink Mini Kit for travel. The portable hardware allows customers to connect to Starlink while camping, boating, traveling in an RV, or otherwise away from home, with compatibility across more than 150 markets worldwide.

In addition to the reduced monthly pricing, eligible customers in some areas may also see $0 upfront hardware costs and no monthly kit fee when signing up through the promotion. That could significantly reduce the barrier to entry for households considering satellite internet for the first time.
After the six-month promotional period ends, customers will automatically transition to Starlink’s regular monthly pricing for their selected plan.
The discounted Residential plans are only available in select areas, meaning availability will depend on local network capacity. Prospective customers can check their address on Starlink’s website to see whether the promotion is available in their region before the March 31 deadline.
