Tim Hortons Partners with FLO to Roll Out Fast EV Chargers Across Canada

Tim Hortons is expanding its offerings beyond coffee and doughnuts by partnering with Quebec-based FLO to install fast electric vehicle (EV) chargers at 100 of its restaurants nationwide by the end of 2028. The initiative aims to make the chain the largest restaurant provider of EV fast charging in Canada, with chargers available in all 10 provinces.

The first site equipped with FLO chargers is already operational at 3810 Chuka Boulevard in Regina, Saskatchewan. This location features FLO Ultra fast chargers, capable of delivering up to 120 kilometres of range in about 10 minutes.

Each participating Tim Hortons will average four charging ports, giving customers the ability to recharge their vehicles while grabbing a coffee or snack.

By the end of 2025, as many as 13 more restaurants are expected to have charging stations online, with the number growing to 50 by 2026. The rollout schedule is designed to ensure consistent expansion and nationwide coverage.

Hope Bagozzi, Chief Marketing Officer at Tim Hortons, emphasized the company’s commitment to making EV charging convenient for Canadians.

“We’re thrilled to partner with FLO to make life a little easier for guests driving electric vehicles. Whether it’s grabbing a coffee and a charge before work, or taking a break on a road trip, we want every Tims run to be convenient, welcoming and a highlight of the journey,” Bagozzi said.

The project is supported by FLO’s partnership with the Canada Infrastructure Bank (CIB), which committed $235 million to fund the installation of more than 1,900 public fast-charging ports across the country. Ehren Cory, CEO of the CIB, said the initiative addresses range anxiety while ensuring chargers are placed in practical, high-traffic locations.

FLO, which operates one of the most reliable charging networks in North America with an uptime rate above 98%, says users will be able to easily locate and activate sessions through its mobile app.

Louis Tremblay, President and CEO of FLO, called the Tim Hortons partnership a milestone in Canada’s transition to electric mobility.

“By installing FLO Ultra chargers at trusted, well-visited locations, we’re not only building the reliable infrastructure EV drivers need but also empowering Canadians to confidently accelerate their transition to electric mobility,” Tremblay explained.
