The Electric Vehicle Association of Alberta is holding a Cold Weather Smackdown video competition

The all too common myth of electric vehicles (EV’s) not performing well in cold weather conditions is one the Electric Vehicle Association of Alberta (EVAA) is hoping to dispel with their latest competition.

The Cold Weather Smackdown is a call out to existing EV owners in Alberta to create a video showcasing that EV’s do in fact work (if not better than gas cars) in the cold, frigid temperatures that Alberta is often accustomed to.

The person who creates the best video, as voted on by the EVAA Board of Directors, will win a prize of $200.

There are a few ways you can participate in this contest. Create your video and

1. post it to their Facebook page,
2. or to Twitter with a @PluginAlberta mentioned and using the hashtag #EVColdWeatherSmackdown, or
3. send the YouTube link of your video to info@albertaev.ca

Since temperatures haven’t quite reached the levels they were hoping for, the EVAA might postpone the contest until next winter, unless an extreme cold snap hits the province soon. But you can still get creative and submit your video to be entered.
