Tesla is busy building a unique Diner and Supercharger in Hollywood. After months of construction, the diner is starting to take shape, and the company has also started hiring for what will undoubtedly become a must-visit for Tesla owners.
Tesla’s Hollywood Diner and Supercharger project, which broke ground last September at 7001 Santa Monica Boulevard, has been years in the making. Plans reveal the company is building unique destination for Tesla owners, including a two-story restaurant with seating for over 200 diners and a separate theater area that accommodates up to 77 guests. Those guests, and Tesla owners plugged in at one of the Supercharger posts, will be able to watch movies on two towering 45-foot LED screens located in the parking lot.
It has now been nearly a year since construction first began, and as the building is getting closer to completion, Tesla has published its first job opening for the diner.
According to the job posting seeking a ‘Tesla Diner Experience Specialist’ on LinkedIn and shared by Jeff on X, the company is seeking individuals to help develop and test pre-opening programs, manage the drive-in movie schedule and audiovisual systems, collaborate on menu changes, and more. The job description also says the successful applicants will coordinate with the Tesla Merchandise team, suggesting there will be a merchandise shop in the diner as well.
“Seeking an individual who is passionate about providing unparalleled and immersive customer experience for charging and dining,” the posting reads. The position has a salary range of US$83,600 all the way up to US$285,000.
While the job posting doesn’t indicate when Tesla plans to open the diner, the fact the job has been published is a good sign it is not too far away. But there is still a lot of construction work left to do, the status of which we get a good look at thanks to a drone flyover from this past weekend by Josh West.
As you can see in the video below, siding has recently been added to the building, and one of the large movie screens is also partially built. While no Supercharger posts have been installed yet, we can also see that all of the underground utility work for the 32 Supercharger stalls has been completed. Work appears to have also started on the lot to the northeast of the diner, which Tesla recently applied to expand and add an additional 48 Supercharger stalls.
To get a sense of what it will look like in its completed form, here is the only official render Tesla has released of the Diner.
