Tesla updated its Supercharger map yesterday, and along with adding a number of potential new stations across the country, Tesla also revealed a new Supercharger is under construction in Burnaby, British Columbia.
The new Supercharger is located in the very small parking lot at 2908 Bainbridge Avenue, just south of the Lougheed Hwy. As you can see in the photos below, the Supercharger looks like it will take up about half of the parking spaces in the entire lot, which is home to a Subway, Wild Flour Pizza, and Gaya Sushi restaurants.
One of our readers Brian was able to drive by and check the site out for us this morning, and construction is in the early stages with crews still working on the concrete forms for the V4 Superchargers posts. We can’t tell how many posts there will be, but it looks like possibly just 6 based on the size of the parking lot.
When complete, this will be the second Supercharger in Burnaby, adding to the 16 V3 Superchargers located less than 4km away at 4567 Lougheed Hwy.
Tesla was also planning to open a 30,000 square foot Service Center in Burnaby at 2505 Eastbrook Parkway. However, despite architectural plans and renderings being produced back in 2022, we have yet to see any signs of construction or progress, leading us to believe Tesla may have abandoned its plans for this site.
