Tesla has started construction on a new Supercharger station in Canmore, Alberta. This is the third Supercharger station for the scenic mountain town, which serves as an important spot for owners travelling through the Rockies.
Tesla brielfy listed Canmore as a potential new Supercharger location earlier this year, but that site was removed from the automaker’s map of upcoming locations in February. However, a month before that happened, we learned Tesla was in fact planning a 12-stall station thanks to a development permit filed with the town nearly two years ago.
According to that permit, discovered by Supercharger sleuth Marco on X, the 12-stall station would be located at the Canmore Gateway Shoppes at 802 Bow Valley Trail.
More than six months later and the station is now nearly fully built out. A photo shared on the TMC forum by user CanadaGoose shows 12 V4 Supercharger posts installed at the back of the parking lot. While the posts and some infrastructure has been installed, the site is still fenced off and the lot still needs to be repaved.
Nearby amenities include a Circle K, KFC, Opa Greek restaurant, Canadian Pizza Unlimited, Canmore Shawarma, and more.

With the addition of this Supercharger, there are now 3 stations with a total of 24 stalls within a 2km stretch of Bow Valley Trail. The others are located at 1702 Bow Valley Trail (8 V3 250kW stalls) and 1719 Bow Valley Trail (4 V2 150kW stalls).
Hopefully this new station, with its location at the rear of the parking lot, and not in front of a large and popular restaurant, means it won’t be ICE’d, a problem that frequently occurs at one of the other stations in Canmore.
