Tesla Significantly Expands Self-Serve Demo Drive Program in Canada

Tesla has significantly expanded its innovative Self-Serve Demo Drive program in Canada, adding over a dozen new locations from Quebec to Saskatchewan. This major expansion brings the total number of self-serve demo drive sites to 15, allowing more Canadians than ever to test drive a Tesla at their convenience—without interacting with a single employee.

The self-serve model eliminates the traditional dealership experience. Instead, drivers simply book online, receive digital instructions, and unlock the vehicle with the Tesla mobile app. After a brief identity verification, the car is ready to go. Each drive lasts approximately one hour, giving prospective buyers more time behind the wheel than a standard in-store demo.

The latest rollout includes a significant focus on Quebec, with new locations in Chicoutimi, Alma, Drummondville, Lavaltrie, Saint-Jérôme, Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, and Gatineau.

Ontario has also seen strong growth, with new self-serve sites in Kingston, Mississauga, London, Niagara Falls, along with the recently added Brantford, Markham, and Owen Sound locations.

Tesla has even extended the program into Saskatchewan, with a new demo drive location in Regina.

Each new location offers varying hours of operation, but most are open six days a week, with drives available between 10:00 AM and 7:00 PM. Some locations offer extended or more flexible hours to accommodate a broader range of schedules.

The program’s rapid growth follows the success of initial pilot locations in Quebec and Ontario. Tesla introduced the self-serve concept to reduce friction in the car-buying process and make it easier for busy customers to experience the brand’s EV technology.

How Self-Serve Demo Drives Work

Drivers can book a self-serve demo online at Tesla’s official demo drive page. You can also visit Tesla’s Find Us map and turn on the Self-Serve Demo Drive filter to see locations on a map.

Once signed up, a valid driver’s license and a smartphone with the Tesla app are required. Upon arrival at the selected location, users can unlock the vehicle using the app and follow GPS-guided routes to test the car’s features.
