Tesla Set to Launch Operations in the Philippines

Tesla is set to open its first store in the Philippines, expanding its global presence. Entering a market of over 115 million people will provide the company with even greater opportunities to expand its impact with sustainable technologies.

Several local media outlets reported late last week that Tesla is looking to enter the Philippines. The company is set to open a showroom and service center in Uptown Bonifacio by Megaworld Corporation in Taguig City. The location is scheduled to open later this year, according to the reports. It will be the company’s first store in the country.

The location is expected to provide a full range of Tesla services. It will not only be a store but also a dedicated service and after-sales center. The mall where the store will be located also has several EV charging stations, so there is a high probability that Tesla will add a few Superchargers as well.

Tesla is reportedly planning to bring almost its entire lineup of electric vehicles, including Model S, Model X, Model 3, and Model Y, to the Philippines. Customers will be able to get up close and personal with the cars, as well as test drive them to better assess their usability and performance. Cybertruck is not expected to arrive in the country.

The appearance of signs of a Tesla store in the Philippines is not unexpected. In mid-September, the company began hiring in the country for various positions. All of them are located in Taguig. Tesla is looking for: Leads Generations Program Manager, Admin & HR Business Partner, Service Manager, Order Operations Specialist, Store Manager, Tesla Advisor, Inside Sales Advisor, Delivery Manager, Delivery Advisor, Vehicle Technician, Service Advisor, Parts Advisor, Customer Support Specialist, Project Developer – Home Charging, and Delivery Operations Specialist.

All of the positions point to a full-fledged Tesla expansion into the Philippines, including a team that will be responsible for the company’s operations in the country, sales, delivery, and service.

The Philippines is Tesla’s fourth location in Southeast Asia, following the company’s entry into Singapore, Thailand, and Malaysia.
