Tesla has started sending out invitations to lucky shareholders inviting them to attend the robotaxi reveal event on October 10.
Last month Tesla announced a shareholder ticket lottery, with owners of Tesla (TSLA) shares as of July 31, 2024 allowed to enter. Each share was worth one entry, and as expected, Tesla has started sending out invitations on Wednesday, revealing new details about the event.
According to copies of the invitation shared on social media by some of the lucky shareholders, Tesla is calling the event “We, Robot.” Doors will open to the event at 5:00pm PT, with the unveiling of the robotaxi beginning with opening remarks two hours later at 7:00pm PT.
Tesla says attendees have to 21 years of age of older, and that space is extremely limited. As a result there is no option for shareholders to bring along a friend, commonly referred to as a +1. Tesla also says tickets are non-transferable, so if you are one of the lucky shareholders to receive a ticket, only you will be able to attend and you won’t be able to sell your ticket to someone else.
One piece of information Tesla didn’t include in the invitation is the exact location, sticking with just saying it will be in Los Angeles. However, we have a pretty good idea that it will be at the Warner Bros. Studio in Burbank, where a heavily camouflaged robotaxi was recently seen driving through one of the studio’s sets.
