Tesla redesigns climate control panel in 2024.26.1 to mirror Cybertruck UI

Tesla latest software update, 2024.26.1, has started rolling out to owners, and it includes a redesign of the climate control panel. The new design isn’t a major change from what we had before, but updates the user interface (UI) to look like that of the Cybertruck.

We first learned about 2024.26 earlier this month, and an early look at the release notes showed it would be a big update, with new features like YouTube Music, Parental Controls, weather forecasts, and more. Under the more category was a brief climate control update, with the release notes simply saying it would include a “redesigned climate panel [that] simplifies comfort settings.”

Now the first pictures of the redesigned climate panel have emerged. As you can see in the photo below, shared on Reddit, Tesla has gone with a new look of having the controls no longer looking like buttons. (h/t: @TeslaNewswire) This makes the climate control user interface (UI) look like that of the Cybertruck, making it another aspect of the truck’s UI that has made into other models.

With the new design, Tesla has moved the Front and Rear controls from the left side to the middle, and the defrost, fan speed, and recirculating air controls to the bottom. The controls for which vents the air should flow out of have been removed, and only appear when ‘Auto’ is not selected.

There is also a new ‘Schedule’ control in the top right hand corner, which allows you to set a time for when you want your vehicle to precondition. Previously you could only do this from the mobile app.

Here is a comparison of the old climate controls (top), the new design (middle), and the Cybertruck’s UI (bottom). Let us know in the comments below what you think of the redesign.
