Tesla rebrands Model S/X bundle to ‘Drive Anywhere Package,’ offers discount when buying FSD

Tesla has updated its recently launched bundle for buyers of the Model S and Model X in the US that includes unlimited Supercharging, Premium Connectivity, and Full Self-Driving (FSD) for three years.

The package has been rebranded with a new name, and the price has been discounted, but only if you spend more money by buying FSD.

About a week and a half ago Tesla introduced a new feature bundle in an attempt to boost sales of the Model S and Model X. The optional bundle was good for 3 years and included all of the features mentioned above, and came with a price tag of $5,000.

In an update to the Design Studio on Tuesday night, Tesla is now calling the bundle the ‘Drive Anywhere Package,’ and has also added a new option into the mix that can lower the price of the package itself, but still results in the customer spending more money.

According the website, the US$5,000 can be discounted to US$2,000, but only when you purchase FSD outright, which currently sits at US$8,000. So in effect you are now paying US$10,000 for 3 years of unlimited Supercharging and Premium Connectivity, and FSD for the life of the vehicle.

Once you select FSD on the online configurator, the price for the package automatically updates to US$2,000.

As with the original offer, the big value in this package is the free Supercharging, and its value is entirely dependent on how often you will use a Supercharger over the next three years. We know Premium Connectivity costs US$99 per year in the US, so $297 over the three years. We also know FSD costs US$8,000.

That leaves you effectively paying US$1,703 for the Supercharging, or the equivalent of US$47 of Supercharging every month for the next three years.

Despite the rebrand, the ‘Drive Anywhere Package’ is not available in Canada, and still only available in the US.
