Tesla Planning 16-Stall Supercharger in Woodbridge, Ontario

With Tesla’s ever expanding Supercharger portfolio in the Greater Toronto Area, it comes as no surprise to see a new location planned in the city of Vaughan.

More specifically, 16 charging stalls are planned at the Fortinos grocery store on Ansley Grove Road in the area of Woodbridge. The site is located along Ontario Highway 7 and is close to onramps for Highways 400 and 407 ETR.

According to the plans submitted by Tesla last year, the Superchargers would be located along Ansley Grove and placed perpendicular to the parking stalls. However, concerns about the site’s interference with the public right of way have caused extensive delays for the project, which was initially supposed to be completed around Fall of 2022.

Tesla is due to set to begin work upon approval by the city’s board of supervisors, although it still hasn’t happened as of this February.

This is actually not the first time Tesla has planned a Supercharger in Woodbridge. Back in 2017, permits were submitted for a 20 stall build at Smart Centres Woodbridge, although the project never wound up being completed.
