Tesla Opens Kaslo Street Supercharger in Vancouver After Year-Long Wait [British Columbia]

Tesla has officially turned on its long-awaited Supercharger station on Kaslo Street in Vancouver, British Columbia, nearly a year after construction wrapped up.

The site, located at 2710 Kaslo Street, brings a significant boost to charging accessibility in East Vancouver, an area that has long lacked high-speed Tesla infrastructure despite strong Model 3 and Model Y adoption in the region.

The new Supercharger features 16 V3 stalls, capable of delivering up to 250 kW of charging power, and is situated in the underground parking area. While this station is open 24 hours a day, though there’s a catch—drivers will need to pay $4 per hour for parking while charging, a detail that may surprise some users used to free or surface-lot access at other Supercharger locations, but not something unfamiliar for Vancouver drivers.

Charging rates at the Kaslo Street site vary depending on time of day and vehicle type. Tesla owners pay between CA$0.29 and CA$0.50 per kWh, depending on off-peak or peak hours. Non-Tesla EV drivers—who must use an adapter—will pay slightly higher rates, from CA$0.40 to CA$0.70 per kWh.

The site is NACS-adapter compatible, meaning that non-Tesla drivers can plug in if they have the proper connector, part of Tesla’s ongoing effort to open its Supercharger network to all EV owners across North America.

In addition to the 16 Supercharger stalls, Tesla has also installed 44 Wall Connectors at the Kaslo Street location. These lower-power chargers are designed for slower top-ups for visitors who park for extended periods.

The opening fills a notable gap between Tesla’s existing stations in Burnaby, downtown Vancouver, and along Marine Drive. For Vancouver-area owners, particularly those in the Hastings-Sunrise and Renfrew Heights, it will hopefully mean shorter wait times and less congestion at other popular charging hubs.
