Tesla has announced a new promotion to help clear out its remaining inventory of Foundation Series Cybertrucks in the US, offering free lifetime Supercharging to new buyers of these vehicles.
The Foundation Series Cybertruck features exclusive laser-etched badges and premium accessories, and came with prices starting at US$99,990 for the All-Wheel-Drive version and going up to US$119,990 for the Cyberbeast. However, sales for the Foundation Series in the US ended a few months ago, with the company now focusing on clearing out the remaining units, offering both discounts and a new incentive.
According to the terms of the deal posted on Tesla’s existing inventory website, the free lifetime Supercharging applies to the original purchaser of the vehicle. Additionally, the lifetime Supercharging benefit is non-transferable, meaning it remains with the original owner and cannot be transferred to a new owner if you decide to sell.
Additionally, the Foundation Series Cybertrucks are being offered at US$94,990 and US$114,990 for the AWD and Cyberbeast trims respectively, a US$5,000 discount off original pricing.
Tesla initially limited Cybertruck production to the Foundation Series to meet early demand and, as the name implies, build the foundation to start series production of the regular Cybertruck. A few months ago Tesla began offering the regular version of the Cybertruck in the US, which is priced US$20,000 lower than the Foundation Series. This shift has left Tesla with unsold inventory of the Foundation Series variants.
While these models are available in existing inventory in the US, the situation is different in Canada. Tesla is still selling Foundation Series Cybertrucks north of the border as new orders, but none are currently listed in existing inventory.
Tesla is also offering free lifetime Supercharging on one of its other premium vehicles, the Model S. However, with the incentive, Tesla also increased the price of both variants of the Model S in Canada and the US by C$7,000 and US$5,000 respectively.
