Tesla Model Y 7-Seater Now Available in Europe

The Tesla Model Y with a third row of seats is now available to order in Europe. For an additional €2,500, customers can add the option to the Long Range All-Wheel Drive (AWD) variant.

Tesla announced on Tuesday that it has launched an enhanced cabin configuration for Model Y in Europe. The company is now offering its electric SUV in a seven-seater configuration, which will be provided by the addition of a third row of seats. The option is only available for the Long Range model.

Adding a third row of seats to Model Y does not mean that owners will permanently lose trunk space. According to the company, the two additional seats can be folded down, increasing the rear cargo volume from 363 liters to 753 liters. There is an additional 117 liters of storage space under the front hood.

Thanks to the location of the seats under the rear window, passengers in the third row have ample headroom. In addition, they have access to two USB-C ports to charge their smartphones, and cup holders for drinks. In practice, the third row of seats in Model Y is best suited for children and teenagers, but can also fit adults if necessary. It is worth keeping in mind that the rear seats do not have an Isofix system for child seats, but only standard seat belts.

The height of the rear seats is 88 centimeters. This is about 10 centimeters less than in the second row. The legroom is 67.3 centimeters. To access the third row of seats, special buttons are provided on the backs of the second-row seats. When pressed, the second row of seats slides forward and folds.

The first deliveries of the all-wheel drive seven-seater Model Y Long Range are expected to take place in Europe later this quarter.
