Tesla has launched the Cybertruck in Canada (and Mexico), with the company beginning to send out emails to reservations holders allowing them to finally configure their orders. The Foundation Series Cybertruck won’t be cheap in Canada however, with pricing starting at $137,990.
Tesla first started deliveries of the Cybertruck in the US last November, handing over the first 10 units to select customers at a special event at Giga Texas. The first wave of deliveries didn’t start until earlier this year, with the company now having delivered about 15,000-20,000 Foundation Series units in the US.
Canadians have been patiently waiting for Tesla to start deliveries north of the border, but that can’t happen until Transport Canada gives it approval for the truck to go on sale. According to the last update from Tesla, they had received a key exemption from Transport Canada, and were still hoping to start deliveries this year.
Just over two weeks later and it looks like the final approval has either happened, or is very close to happening.
According to an internal email sent to employees on Thursday evening, a copy of which was seen by Drive Tesla, the company says that as of today, August 8, 2024, they have started inviting Cybertruck reservation holders in Canada and Mexico to order their Foundation Series Cyberbeast or All-Wheel Drive Cybertrucks.
Cybertruck Price in Canada
While the biggest piece of information was missing from the email, the price, some customers have started receiving the email, including one of our readers, Sam, and as expected, it is not cheap.
The AWD Cybertruck costs $137,990, while the tri-motor CyberBeast will set you back a whopping $165,990. However, with the various taxes, including the federal luxury tax, the prices get much higher.
Depending on where in the country you live, the Cybertruck AWD will come in at around $165,000 to $175,000 after taxes, while the Cyberbeast will be somewhere around $200,000 and $220,000.
Cybertruck Delivery Dates in Canada
According to the same email, both variants of the Cybertruck are expected to be delivered in October or November 2024.
