Tesla is expanding its presence in South America through a new partnership with Chilean energy giant Copec. The two companies announced plans today to build a Supercharger network along some of Chile’s most important highways

Under the agreement, Tesla Superchargers will be installed at Copec gas stations approximately every 200 km, connecting La Serena in the north to Puerto Montt in the south, with the total charging corridor spanning roughly 1,500 km (932 miles) along the western part of the country.

Each Supercharger location will feature four V3 charging stalls capable of delivering up to 250 kW. Importantly, all sites will be powered by renewable energy supplied by Copec Emoac.

Installations for the new Supercharger corridor are expected to roll out gradually throughout 2026.

Copec CEO Arturo Natho said the collaboration highlights the company’s commitment to accelerating Chile’s transition toward cleaner mobility. Despite rapid progress, significant gaps remain. Chile’s publicly accessible charging network has expanded by 292 percent to more than 1,600 charging points, yet over 60 percent of municipalities still lack any public EV charging infrastructure, according to Mobility Plaza.

The Supercharger announcement follows another recent milestone in the Tesla-Copec relationship. In January, Copec Flux became the first company in Chile to complete Tesla Energy’s Certified Service Provider program, granting access to Tesla’s tools, training, and service technology for operating and maintaining Megapack 2 XL energy storage systems.
