Tesla App 4.50.0 Adds Tire Center, Remote Screen Sharing, and More

Tesla’s newest iOS app update (version 4.50.0) brings features that go beyond convenience; it offers deeper integration between the company’s cars and energy products. Among the highlights are two significant additions: a fully integrated Tire Center designed to streamline tire purchases and maintenance, and a new Remote Screensharing capability that could transform Tesla’s approach to diagnostics and customer support.

Tesla Tire Center

The new Tire Center brings one of the most requested vehicle maintenance services directly into the Tesla app. Owners can now browse and purchase replacement tires tailored to their vehicle’s exact specifications without visiting a Service Center or third-party retailer.

Tesla emphasizes that all tires available through the new feature are co-developed with leading manufacturers and optimized specifically for Tesla models. Approved tires are marked with a unique “T” designation, indicating compatibility and performance certification from Tesla. The app also highlights that these tires can improve vehicle range compared to previous versions.

Beyond just tire selection, the new interface offers flexible purchasing options. Users can order a full set or select individual replacements, and even add Tesla’s Wheel and Tire Protection Plan with a few taps.

Remote Screensharing

Perhaps even more intriguing is the discovery of a Remote Screensharing feature, now appearing in both the mobile app’s code and the latest in-car firmware (version 2025.38). The capability, still in development, would allow authorized users or Tesla technicians to view a live feed of the car’s main display remotely.

According to a decompile of the app by @Tesla_App_iOS on X, new in-app code strings such as ScreenSharePermissionDialog and ScreenShareStopDialog suggest a user-controlled interface for starting and ending a session. The connection will likely use a secure, token-based system—users must explicitly enable sharing and are protected by a temporary PIN that regenerates each time the vehicle restarts.

According to known Tesla firmware researcher @greentheonly, this new “screenshare” service can export the vehicle’s display, with visible on-screen notifications for transparency and a four-digit security PIN system for protection.

This technology could transform Tesla’s service model by enabling real-time remote support. Technicians may soon be able to view what owners see inside the car—troubleshooting software issues or guiding users through complex settings without requiring a service visit. Alternatively, Tesla could extend this functionality to owners themselves, allowing them to record their in-car displays to report bugs, capture Full Self-Driving behavior, or share demonstrations online.

Other Additions

In addition to the Tire Center and Remote Screensharing capabilities, Tesla App 4.50.0 introduces several backend improvements that quietly expand the company’s digital ecosystem. One of the most notable is the new Rate Tariff Service for Tesla Energy users. This feature will allow owners of Powerwall or Solar systems to input their specific utility rate plans directly into the app—such as peak and off-peak pricing. With that information, Tesla’s energy management system can automatically optimize how and when to charge or discharge stored energy, maximizing savings by drawing power when electricity is cheapest and selling or using it when rates are highest.

Another small but practical upgrade is the inclusion of Delivery Location Hours, which displays operating times for vehicle delivery centers directly within the app’s message center—making it easier for new owners to plan their handovers. Meanwhile, a new Tesla Insurance Quick Quote endpoint hints at an upcoming feature that would provide instant insurance estimates without requiring a full application, lowering the barrier for potential customers to explore Tesla’s in-house coverage.
