Tesla adds iOS Control Center shortcuts in new app update

Tesla released a new version of their mobile app on the iOS App Store that allows owners to add Control Center shortcuts to, as you might have guessed, quickly and easily control certain features of their cars.

The version of the mobile app needed for to add these Control Center shortcuts is v4.38.0, which was released on the App Store on Friday afternoon. In addition, you also need to have iOS 18 installed on your mobile device.

Once you have both, you can add the following shortcuts to your Control Center.

  • Lock (and unlock)
  • Climate Control (on/off)
  • Charge Port (open/close)
  • Frunk (open)
  • Flash headlights
  • Honk
  • Fart

How To Add iOS Control Center Shortcuts To Your Tesla App

To add Tesla shortcuts to the Control Center on your mobile device, swipe down from the top-right corner of the screen. Then, press and hold on an area of the screen without an existing icon until ‘Add a Control’ appears at the bottom of the screen.

Tap ‘Add a Control,” then type ‘Tesla’ in the search bar to pull up the available shortcuts, and tap on the one you want to add. If you have more than one Tesla vehicle on your account, you can also select which vehicle the shortcut applies to. You can then expand the shortcut to cover two icon spaces to display the vehicle’s name.

Once everything has been set up, simply swipe down from the top-right corner of the screen like you did above to access and use the shortcuts.

Here’s a quick video we shared on X yesterday (follow us for the latest updates) showing you how to do it. Which shortcuts are you adding? Let us know in the comments below.
