Lucid has announced a multi-year partnership with award-winning actor Timothée Chalamet. The partnership marks the first time Lucid has signed a Global Brand Ambassador, as the luxury electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer attempts to appeal to a broader, and younger, audience.
Chalamet is no stranger to Lucid, having been seen driving a Lucid Air as early as 2023, when the automaker was struggling to make a name for itself. As Brand Ambassador, Chalamet will headline a new advertising campaign this fall for Lucid’s Gravity SUV, highlighting Lucid as both a technology company and a luxury lifestyle brand.

Chalamet is best known for his breakout role in 2017 in Call Me by Your Name, which earned him an Academy Award nomination for Best Actor. He is also recognized for starring in major films such as Dune, Little Women, and Wonka,
“Timothée brings the same bold creativity and authenticity that drives our brand,” said Akerho “AK” Oghoghomeh, Senior Vice President of Marketing at Lucid Motors. “Together, we aim to showcase how innovation, style, and culture can redefine the automotive experience.”

While the collaboration has generated buzz, investor sentiment has not been as positive. Lucid (LCID) shares slipped by 8% on Tuesday following the announcement, down to around $2.50 per share.
Some retail investors voiced concerns about how much this partnership cost Lucid amid ongoing financial challenges. Lucid is preparing for a shareholder vote on August 18 to approve a 1-for-10 reverse stock split, a move aimed at stabilizing its stock performance.
Lucid is set to report its Q2 2025 earnings on August 5, after producing 3,863 vehicles and achieving its seventh straight quarter of record deliveries, with 3,309 units delivered.
