Lucid has unveiled its production-intent robotaxi that will underpin a future robotaxi service developed in partnership with Uber and Nuro. The reveal marks the first public look at the vehicle that will ultimately form the backbone of a planned large-scale robotaxi deployment beginning in 2026.
Revealed at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, Lucid’s robotaxi showcases a design optimized for fully driverless operation. Externally, the vehicle features a sensor suite combining high-resolution cameras, solid-state lidar, and multiple radar units to provide robust, redundant perception.
A halo-mounted LED system sits atop the vehicle, helping riders quickly identify the correct vehicle while also displaying rider initials and real-time trip status from pickup through drop-off.

Inside, Lucid and Uber are leaning into transparency and personalization. A central in-vehicle visualization shown on all three displays allows passengers to see exactly what the robotaxi “sees,” including nearby traffic, pedestrians, and its intended path. The display animates maneuvers such as yielding, lane changes, traffic-light interactions, and passenger drop-offs in real time.

Riders will also have access to interactive screens designed by Uber that allow them to tailor the experience. Climate settings, heated seats, music selection, and support options are all accessible, along with the ability to request a pull-over if needed. The cabin is configured to carry up to six passengers, positioning the vehicle for both premium solo trips and small group rides.
Under the hood, the robotaxi is powered by NVIDIA’s DRIVE AGX Thor compute, part of the NVIDIA DRIVE Hyperion platform, delivering the processing capability required for Level 4 autonomy. Pending final validation, Lucid expects the production-intent robotaxi to begin manufacturing later this year at its Arizona facility.
The reveal builds on a partnership first announced in mid-2025, when Lucid, Uber, and Nuro confirmed plans to deploy more than 20,000 autonomous EVs starting in 2026. Those vehicles will be offered exclusively through Uber’s network, with the company committing US$300 million to Lucid as part of the deal, with additional undisclosed investment to Nuro.
