Lucid Gravity orders open in the US, tops out at $126.5K

Lucid has officially opened orders for its highly-anticipated Gravity SUV in the US. The Gravity Grand Touring, the highest and currently only trim available, starts at $94,900, but with premium packages and additional features, it can reach $126,500.

The Gravity Grand Touring is the first SUV in Lucid’s lineup, expanding beyond the Air sedan that has been in production since 2022. When Lucid announced last month that orders for the Gravity would be opening on November 7, the company said pricing would start at $94,900 for the highest Grand Touring trim, and later in 2025 a lower trim would become available at $79,900.

Those were attractive prices for a luxury SUV, but with the launch of the Lucid Gravity configurator today, the price of the Grand Touring can quickly climb above $100,000 when adding options. Many of the options are also bundled together in packages, meaning if you want a heated steering wheel for example, you have to purchase the Comfort & Convenience Package for $2,500, that includes several other options you might not be interested in.

Here’s a look at some of the features included in the option packages that should be standard for a vehicle of this price. Many of these features are even included as standard in Tesla’s base Model 3.

  • Air suspension (+$2,900 – Dynamic Handling Package)
  • Rear Wheel Steering (+$2,900 – Dynamic Handling Package)
  • Heads-Up Display (+$3,200 – Technology Package)
  • Ambient Lighting (+$3,200 – Technology Package)
  • Heated Steering Wheel (+$2,500 – Comfort & Convenience Package)
  • Heated Second Row Seats (+$2,500 – Comfort & Convenience Package)
  • Acoustic Glass (+$2,500 – Comfort & Convenience Package)
  • Rear Display ((+$2,500 – Comfort & Convenience Package)

The customization, and price bumps, don’t stop there. Additional optional upgrades include exterior colour options (+$1,000), a platinum appearance trim package (+$1,000), real leather seats with microsuede headliner (+$4,200), and an optional third-row seat (+$2,900), pushing the SUV’s price even higher.

With a starting price of $94,900, the Lucid Gravity Grand Touring enters the market as a premium electric SUV with impressive range (440 miles/708km) and performance capabilities. However, the options that shouldn’t really be options and push the price well above $100,000 might deter some buyers, especially considering Lucid’s vehicles don’t qualify for federal EV tax credits in the US.

You can spec out a Gravity Grand Touring on Lucid’s website. Canadian pricing and availability will be announced at a later date.
