Lucid Gravity Gains Towing Tools, Dash Cam, and More with UX 3.3 Update

Lucid is giving its new Gravity SUV an early round of improvements, rolling out the UX 3.3 over-the-air (OTA) software update that enhances towing capabilities, adds dash cam functionality, and introduces new security tools.

Smarter Towing Capabilities

One of the biggest upgrades in UX 3.3 focuses on towing, an important feature for the Gravity. The new Trailer Light Check allows drivers to cycle through their trailer’s lights in sequence to verify functionality before hitting the road. The tool can be activated from the Gravity’s infotainment system or remotely via the Lucid mobile app.

This addition joins the SUV’s existing Integrated Trailer Brake Control and Hitch View Camera, creating a suite of towing aids that help drivers manage heavy loads more confidently. The Gravity is rated for towing up to 6,000-lb (2,721 kg).

Halo Secure Expands with Live View and Drive Recorder

Lucid is also expanding its Halo Secure platform, giving owners an early preview of new security tools. A Live View function (currently in beta) lets drivers stream real-time video from the Gravity’s exterior cameras through the Lucid mobile app.

The Drive Recorder, also in beta, turns the SUV into a built-in dash cam. It automatically captures video of selected events—such as a collision—and saves the clips to a connected USB storage device. Owners can choose additional scenarios for the recorder to capture, making it customizable for everyday use.

Lucid is offering Live View free through the end of 2025, after which the feature is expected to become a subscription service.

User Interface and Audio Refinements

UX 3.3 introduces several quality-of-life enhancements to the Gravity’s infotainment system. Drivers can now create a bookmark tile on the home screen, allowing for one-tap access to favorite destinations. The Energy app has also been refined with clearer consumption graphs and an improved range map to make battery management more intuitive.

The audio system is Lucid’s SUV also saw some improvements, now with clearer call quality and reduced background noise.

The Lucid Gravity

The Lucid Gravity is the California-based automaker’s second model after the Air sedan. With a range of up to 724 km (450 miles) on a single charge and an expansive three-row interior, the Gravity aims to compete with both luxury electric and traditional gasoline SUVs.

Deliveries actually started late last year, but were limited to employees and friends and family. Since then, the automaker has ramped up production and begun deliveries to regular customers.
