Transport Canada has released the July iZEV numbers, and the solid start for 2024 has continued through the Summer.
According to the latest numbers, the overall iZEV registrations totaled just under 20,000, at 19,992 coast-to-coast. These numbers are on par with April and May but lag behind a record-setting June. (via Automotive News)
In terms of brands, Tesla continues to lead the EV space in Canada. However, Hyundai, Chevrolet, and Ford are all gaining ground. Chevrolet had its best month yet in iZEV rebates, powered by the Chevrolet Equinox EV, accounting for around 75% of its total.

By vehicle, the Chevrolet Equinox has made its first appearance in the top three, while Tesla’s Model Y saw a minimal decrease in July over last month.

In terms of the numbers by province, Quebec continues to dominate the EV space, with almost 11,000 EVs registered under the iZEV program in July alone. BC and Ontario continue to fight for second, with no other province near the big three.
In fact, Saskatchewan, Newfoundland and Labrador, Prince Edward Island, and the three territories are still under 1,000 vehicles registered under iZEV for all of 2024.
