If you use your phone regularly while driving your Tesla for navigation, music, or calls, a good phone mount can make a big difference. Over the last few weeks I’ve been testing the Active Cooling Tesla Compatible Phone Mount from Jowua, and it has quickly become one of my favorite interior upgrades.

Designed for any Tesla, the mount combines wireless charging, active cooling, and a highly adjustable design that fits neatly into Tesla’s minimalist interior.

The Active Cooling Qi2 Wireless Charging version is currently available for C$135/US$89.95, and with the coupon code DRIVETESLA you can take an additional 5% off. The same code also works across the rest of Jowua’s lineup of Tesla accessories.

If you’re a Model 3 Highland or Model Y Juniper owner, Jowua also has this same mount that installs in the air vent, allowing you to install it anywhere along your dash. It is priced at C$98/US$64.95 and can be purchased here.

Why this mount stands out

There are a lot of Tesla phone mounts on the market, but one of the biggest issues with wireless charging mounts is heat, a problem that also plagues Tesla’s built-in wireless chargers, which are fondly (or not so fondly) referred to as a phone warmer instead of phone charger.

Jowua’s solution address that with a built-in dual cooling system. The mount includes a semiconductor cooling plate that helps draw heat away from the phone, along with a small silent fan that circulates air and removes heat generated during charging.

After using it for the past few weeks, I can say this feature actually works. My phone stays noticeably cooler than it did on the factory wireless charging pad, which was something I struggled with before. Charging has been consistently fast, and I haven’t experienced the overheating or charging slowdowns that were common with the standard wireless charging pad.

Qi2 and MagSafe charging support

The mount uses a Qi2 wireless charging module capable of delivering up to 15W charging. It supports iPhone MagSafe models as well as Qi2-compatible Android devices using a MagSafe phone case.

The magnetic connection is strong and snaps the phone into place instantly. In daily use the mount has been rock solid, even over rough roads. The magnetic strength is rated to hold the equivalent of up to three iPhone 13s, so there’s no concern about the phone slipping off during a drive.

The charging pad also has a soft anti-slip silicone surface that helps prevent scratches.

Adjustable and well positioned

One of the things I appreciate most about this mount is how adjustable it is. The design includes a rotating base, folding arm, and a 360-degree ball head, allowing you to always get the exact viewing angle you want.

Despite having all that flexibility, the mount still sits in a very natural position in the car. It places the phone close to the screen without feeling intrusive, and importantly it doesn’t block your view out the windshield. That was something I was concerned about initially, but in practice it hasn’t been an issue at all.

Simple installation

Installation is straightforward thanks to the press-to-lock suction cup base. It creates a strong vacuum seal without adhesives, so there’s no residue left behind if you ever remove it.

The base is also washable and reusable, which helps maintain its grip over time.

A great upgrade for Tesla owners

For Tesla drivers who rely on their phones for navigation or media, this mount is an excellent addition. It combines fast wireless charging, active cooling, strong magnetic attachment, and a clean design that fits naturally in the cabin.

After using it for a few weeks, it has proven to be reliable, stable, and much more effective than the built-in wireless charging pad in keeping the phone cool while charging.

At C$135, it’s not the cheapest mount available, but the cooling system and overall build quality make it stand out. And with the DRIVETESLA coupon code knocking another 5% off, it’s a worthwhile upgrade for anyone looking to improve their Tesla setup.
