Electrify Canada to offer free charging to new VW e-Golf owners

Electrify Canada, which in part is owned by Volkswagen, has announced they have partnered with the German automaker to offer free charging to new VW e-Golf owners.

The deal will allow owners of a 2020 VW e-Golf to visit any Electrify Canada charging station and enjoy an unlimited number of 30-minute charging sessions over the course of two years.

To partake in the program, owners must download the new Electrify Canada mobile app available for both iPhone and Android. Once installed, they can manage their free charging plan and redeem the free charging sessions.

The deal with Electrify Canada is similar to the recent agreement made with Porsche. For owners of the new Porsche Taycan, they too will be able to enjoy 3 years of free 30-minute charging sessions.

Electrify Canada currently only has two public charging stations open across the country, both of them in Ontario. They have plans to open 32 additional stations by next year, including up to 20 at select Canadian Tire locations across the country.
