Cybertruck now set to get FSD in September, parking assistance features this week

Tesla has provided another update for when the Cybertruck will receive Full Self-Driving (FSD), and the feature is now expected to make its debut on the electric truck next month. Before then however, the Cybertruck will gain some parking assistance features.

Tesla released the Cybertruck in November last year, but it was missing Tesla’s signature features – Autopilot and FSD. It has still not been added to the Cybertruck, but back in May CEO Elon Musk said it will happen with the release of FSD v12.5, which he said at the time was two to four weeks away, putting a potential release of FSD for the Cybertruck in June.

However, as with many of Musk’s timelines, that one was a bit optimistic, and June came and went with no FSD release for the Cybertruck. Then in late July Musk provided another update, saying during an interview at the X Takeover that it “should be coming out in August.” He was little more cautious this time, adding later that he can’t be sure of the exact timing.

Now Ashok Elluswamy, Director Autopilot Software at Tesla, has provided another update and says it is slated for a September release. Elluswamy announced the timeline on X, adding that “parking assistance features” will first be added later this week.

These timelines are just estimates, and the dates are not set in stone. Elluswamy used words like “slated for” and “expected” when saying when FSD and the parking assistance features will arrive, so be prepared that these dates could slip further into the future depending on the results of Tesla’s internal testing.
