British Columbia increases EV charger rebates for apartments/condos and workplaces

British Columbia has increased the amount of their electric vehicle (EV) charging station rebates, but only for apartments, condos, workplaces, and fleet operators.

The Government of British Columbia announce today that the CleanBC Go Electric EV Charger Rebate will for a limited time cover up to 75% of the cost to purchase and install eligible EV charging stations for these property types noted above, up to a maximum of $5,000.

Under the previous terms of the program, 50% of the costs were covered.

Unfortunately the Tesla Wall Connector is not listed as an eligible charger for apartments, condos, and workplaces, but is still included for single family homes.

The rebates for the CleanBC Go Electric Fleets program is also getting a boost thanks to additional funding from Natural Resources Canada.

“Fleet operators can get combined rebates from NRCan and the Province for a Level 2 charging station as much as 75% to a maximum of $5,000 of purchase and installation costs, and 75% to a maximum of $75,000 for a direct-current, fast-charging station,” the government said in a press release.

Also announced today was funding for 810 new EV chargers across the province.
