Tesla’s Long-Awaited Delta Supercharger Is Finally Open [British Columbia]

After nearly two years of waiting, Tesla has finally switched on its newest Supercharger in Delta, British Columbia.

The new site, located on Annacis Island (Cliveden Avenue), is now live with 12 V3 Supercharger stalls. Pricing ranges from $0.22 to $0.36 per kWh, depending on the time of day, giving drivers in the Lower Mainland another affordable option for fast charging.

This Supercharger has been a long time coming. It was first spotted under construction back in early 2024 in the parking lot shared by Wendy’s and Tim Hortons at 1359 Cliveden Ave. At the time, Tesla’s Supercharger map didn’t even show Delta as an upcoming location, making the discovery a bit of a surprise for the local EV community.

Photos from the early construction phase showed the 12 charging posts already installed, along with much of the required hardware. However, the site was still missing a transformer before it could come online. What was expected to take “a month or two” ended up stretching into nearly two years — a timeline that will sound all too familiar to anyone who follows EV infrastructure projects across Canada.

With this Supercharger now active, Delta gains its fourth Tesla Supercharger location. The other three sites serve drivers in western Delta, located at Tsawwassen Mills and Ladner Centre, and a newer station on Lander Trunk Rd, just off Hwy 99.
