Tesla starts construction on V4 Supercharger in Red Deer’s Gasoline Alley [Alberta]

Tesla has begun construction on a brand-new V4 Supercharger station in Red Deer, Alberta, the third Supercharger station in what is known as Gasoline Alley.

The site is located at 135 Leva Avenue, next to a Tempo Gas Station and Smitty’s restaurant. According to a photo shared on the TMC forums, construction is well underway with 12 V4 Supercharger (325kW) stalls already in place, adding some much-needed capacity to the region where there is already an 8-stall V3 Supercharger (250kW) and 4-stall V2 Supercharger (150kW) up the road.

Red Deer first appeared on Tesla’s official Supercharger map as a potential site in September 2024.

This new Red Deer Supercharger is located along a heavily travelled route between Calgary and Edmonton, one of Alberta’s busiest highway corridors. With around 300 km separating Calgary and Edmonton and winter temperatures placing additional strain on EV range, reliable high-speed charging in Red Deer, which is nearly exactly the midpoint between the two cities, is a critical piece of infrastructure for year-round EV travel in the province.

While Tesla hasn’t released an official opening date yet, the level of construction progress suggests the site could potentially go live within the next couple of months, provided there no delays in receiving the transformer or from the utility company in making the final connection to the grid.
