Tesla upgrades Supercharger listings with clearer location information

Tesla is preparing to roll out a new update that will make it easier for drivers to locate and identify Supercharger stations, both within their vehicles and through the Tesla mobile app.

The upcoming changes will display additional details for each charging site — including the common site name, street address, and city — replacing the current system that typically only shows the town or general area.

The improvement was first spotted by Whole Mars Catalog, a well-known Tesla enthusiast account, who noted that Tesla has already begun displaying common names in their Supercharger lists, instead of the typical naming convention, for example, “Los Angelese Supercharger.”

The changes have extended to Canada and are also visible in our mobile app north of the border, which now show the name of the business or point of interest where the Supercharger is located.

The full set of enhancements are expected to arrive “in the coming weeks,” according to Tesla Charging, which confirmed the improvement via its official account on X. The company explained that these updates will also extend to Trip Planner views, giving users better spatial awareness and helping them plan stops more precisely during long drives.

While the change might seem minor, it marks another step in Tesla’s ongoing effort to refine the Supercharger network experience — already the most extensive fast-charging system in the world. By adding exact street and city information, Tesla aims to reduce confusion for drivers navigating unfamiliar areas or regions with multiple Superchargers located close together.

The update is particularly useful for urban charging sites, where several Superchargers can exist within the same area, such as at different shopping centers or highway rest stops. More detailed labeling will allow users to quickly distinguish between locations, helping them plan and avoid unnecessary detours.
