Tesla has delivered another record-breaking quarter, achieving new highs in both vehicle sales and energy storage deployments in the third quarter of 2025. The company produced 447,450 vehicles and delivered 497,099 of those worldwide, surpassing Wall Street estimates and marking one of the strongest quarters in its history.
Vehicle Production and Deliveries
Unsurprisingly, the Model 3 and Model Y accounted for the majority of Tesla’s sales and production between July and September, with 435,826 units produced and 481,166 delivered. Tesla’s premium models, including the Model S, Model X, and Cybertruck, contributed an additional 11,624 units produced and 15,933 delivered.
The total of 497,099 vehicles delivered sets a new record for the automaker, surpassing the 495,574 vehicles reported in the fourth quarter of 2024.
Compared to Q3 2024, Tesla deliveries rose 7%, up from 462,890 vehicles a year ago. The increase was fueled in part by a surge in U.S. demand ahead of the September 30 expiration of the $7,500 federal EV tax credit. Many buyers rushed to finalize orders before the incentive was eliminated under new legislation.
Production, however, dipped slightly from the same period last year, when Tesla built 469,796 vehicles. Despite this, deliveries exceeded analyst forecasts by a wide margin. Estimates compiled by FactSet had predicted around 447,600 deliveries, while Tesla’s own consensus report suggested expectations closer to 443,000.
The actual 497,099 figure even outpaced optimistic independent forecasts of 481,000.
Energy Storage Hits a New High
Not to be left out, Tesla’s Energy division also set a record, deploying 12.5 gigawatt-hours (GWh) of energy storage. This represents a sharp increase from 9.6 GWh in Q2 2025 and 6.9 GWh in the same quarter last year.
