Tesla has introduced a new rental service at its Collision Centers in the United States, offering customers an affordable way to stay on the road while their vehicles undergo repairs.
For many Tesla drivers, one of the biggest challenges after an accident is dealing with insurance-provided rentals. Most insurance companies partner with traditional rental agencies, which means the replacement vehicle is almost always a gas-powered car.
This creates an inconvenience for Tesla owners who are accustomed to charging at home or Superchargers and prefer the electric driving experience, as the company also typically doesn’t provide loaner cars.
But now owners have another option. According to new signage at a Collision Center in California, owners can rent a Tesla for just US$45 per day while their car is being fixed. This rate appears to be for the Model 3, as Tesla’s entire lineup is available to rent, pending availability.
What makes this program particularly appealing is the inclusion of benefits that would normally cost extra elsewhere. Each rental comes with Full Self-Driving (Supervised) at no additional charge.
Customers also get free Supercharging, eliminating charging costs, and free tolls, which further reduces travel expenses.
How the Program Works
To qualify, customers must have a Tesla scheduled for service at a Collision Center—rental vehicles are not available at Tesla Service Centers. Once an appointment is confirmed, the Collision team will reach out to discuss rental availability, pricing, and pickup details.
For added peace of mind, renters also have access to Tesla Roadside Assistance. Whether it’s a flat tire or a low battery, help can be requested through the app or by phone.
Since the signage was at a California Collision Center, it is unclear if this offer is available nationwide, but Tesla does say on their website rentals are not available everywhere.
